Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly. When we spread mom's ashes at Montezuma Landing in March (and shared stories, prayers, songs, poems, with tears and laughter), we kept getting dive-bombed by a vibrant tiger swallowtail butterfly, fluttering brightly in the clear skies of that beautiful March day. Since then, the swallowtail has become a frequent visitor to my forest walks, and wetland paddles. It feels like Mom's spirit is close by.
