Jean Canôt, the Canoe Rambler
Day 93, past New Orleans, at Bohemia Beach, and paddling to the end of the Mississippi River!
Mighty Quapaw guide, Jean-Canôt, the Canoe Rambler, camped at Bohemia Beach last night, opposite Port Sulphur, and is nearing the end of his 3-month expedition down the Mississippi River. Yesterday was day 93. He has maybe 3 more days to reach completion. Mighty Quapaw guide Joe Solomon, Kayaking 4 a Cause, to join him for final push. The winds have been tough as he nears the Gulf (Hurricane Julia), and the traffic through the ports of New Orleans and vicinity typically thick and busy. But Jean-Canôt has skillfully and determinedly paddled through it all, and doggedly updated his Canoe Rambler blog (much to his reader’s enjoyment!)
Every day Jean Canôt sends photos, descriptions, and recommendations for other paddlers. Click here for the index to his daily notes, river descriptions, and photos. Good read, and valuable information for anyone paddling the Mississippi River source to sea!
Go to the Canoe Rambler and join Jean-Canôt in his canoe, for these final days of the final week, as he makes his final paddle strokes through New Orleans and down the South Pass to the end of the muddy waters, and the edge of the Gulf of Mexico.
A mighty "Whoo-whoop!" and paddles up to Jean Canôt, the Canoe Rambler!
Whoop whoop!!! Paddles Up!!!
