About the Organization: The mission of Lower Mississippi River Foundation (LMRF) is to promote stewardship of the Mississippi River through deep engagement. The organization is currently focused on providing in-depth opportunities for members of the community to interact with the Mississippi River and develop a sense of connection to the natural world. LMRF provides an opportunity for local youth to have life changing experiences each summer through week long river adventures on the Mississippi camping on its majestic islands. Additionally, LMRF supports day trips for community members of all ages helping to transform the relationship to the river from fear to respect and appreciation.
Project Overview: The Lower Mississippi River Foundation (LMRF) is inviting proposals from qualified fundraising professionals to assist in raising funds to support its mission of providing transformative experiences for children and community members through canoeing and camping adventures on the Mississippi River. LMRF’s flagship program is a week-long adventure where students from communities in the Mississippi and Arkansas Delta embark on a life-changing journey floating down the Mississippi River. More information about LMRF's initiatives can be found on their website: www.lowermsfoundation.org The funds raised by the fundraising professional are to be used to expand existing programming and support operational costs.
Scope of Work: The selected fundraising professional will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy tailored to LMRF's objectives. The selected fundraising professional will be responsible for leveraging their proven track record to plan, execute, and manage a successful fundraising campaign for LMRF. The funds raised will directly contribute to the continuation of our free canoe trips for children during the upcoming summer and the organization's desire to expand programming beginning in 2026 and beyond. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Conduct a thorough assessment of LMRF's current fundraising initiatives and develop a targeted fundraising plan. 2. Identify and engage potential donors, sponsors, and partners aligned with LMRF's mission. 3. Develop compelling fundraising campaigns and materials to effectively communicate LMRF's impact and goals. 4. Implement strategies for donor retention and stewardship. 5. Explore and leverage various fundraising channels, including events, online campaigns, and corporate partnerships. 6. Provide regular progress reports and updates to LMRF's leadership. Proposal Submission Guidelines: Interested fundraising professionals are requested to submit a comprehensive proposal by Friday, April 12th. Proposals should include the following: Company or Individual Qualifications: Provide a brief overview of your company, including experience in fundraising for nonprofit organizations and any relevant success stories. Highlight the qualifications and experience of key team members who will be involved in the LMRF fundraising campaign. Approach and Methodology: Outline your proposed approach and methodology for fundraising on behalf of LMRF, including strategies for donor engagement and campaign execution.. Budget and Pricing: Provide a detailed budget breakdown, including any fees, expenses, or additional costs associated with the fundraising services. References: Include references from previous nonprofit clients for whom you have provided fundraising services. Selection Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria: Proven Track Record: Demonstrate a successful track record of raising significant funds for nonprofit organizations, particularly for organizations with outdoor education and community engagement initiatives Fundraising Strategy: Develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy tailored to our organization's goals, emphasizing both creativity, and strategic planning. Goal Achievement: Outline a clear and achievable plan to reach our fundraising goal of $250,000.00 within 18-24 months of campaign launch. Campaign Components: Propose a mix of fundraising activities, including but not limited to donor outreach, events, online campaigns, corporate sponsorships, and grants. Budget Allocation: Provide a transparent budget allocation plan, detailing how the funds raised will be utilized to support the free canoe trips for children, support a full-time director, and support expanded programming in 2026 and beyond. Reporting and Evaluation: Commit to providing regular updates on fundraising progress and submit a detailed post-campaign report, including a breakdown of funds raised, expenses incurred, and the overall success of the campaign.
