In this issue:
Were is Jean Canôt? Day 68 in the life of the “Canoe Rambler” — now below Memphis, in the state of Mississippi, and canoeing our way, over a thousand miles, and millions of paddle strokes, headed for the Gulf.
Dale Sanders — whooo-whooop Dale! Oldest person to ever paddle the entire length of the Mississippi River (and maybe the youngest at heart!)
Magic on the Mississippi — we still have room for one or two more for this life changing week in the wilderness, with world class adventurers Dave & Emma Cornthwaite, Oct 16-23, 2022, Memphis to Clarksdale.
Dale Sanders: Graybeard Adventurer
Paddles up to our dear friend Dale Sanders — who just completed his odyssey and reclaimed his crown as the oldest person to ever paddle the entire length of the Mississippi River! Dale might be the oldest in human years, but his soul, his spirit, and his twinkling eyes make him one of the youngest people (at heart) that I know! Dale’s feat has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. Dale started paddling from source at Lake Itasca, MN, all the way to the salt water in the Gulf of Mexico, around 2340 miles, in a Northstar "NorthWind SOLO" canoe. He finished in 87 days, on September 8, 2022.
