Your Big River Adventure Begins Here...

Here in the cracks of time — in between Christmas and New Years — we’re excited to share this with you:

It’s now live! ~~ our new www.island63.com ~~

Unveiling our new website!

Quapaw Canoe Company has a refurbished and redesigned home. It’s still found at the same ol’ address www.island63.com. Go check it out and let us know what you think!

Question: Why island63? Answer: Island 63 is the closest island to our home base, Clarksdale, MS. (BTW: access is via our closest landing, Quapaw Landing, which inspired the name for the company!)

Thanks to husband and wife team John & Lori Moore, of 305spin.com, and their band of web designers. Whooo-whoop! Our own Mighty Quapaw “JC” Jean-Canôt oversaw logistics, input, layout and photos. Grace Singer implemented FareHarbor — our new booking platform! (PS: still adding on a few pages, and finalizing the gift shop, map shop, and other aspects…. all in good time…)

Go poke around and see what you think. Lots of old stuff, but updated and condensed. We’ve updated old pages like the Guides and Testimonials. We’ve added lots of new pages, like “What to Expect”, and School & Group Trips, and a page for all of our Voyageur Canoes.

We also have a new pricing scale, for the first time in 5 years (up 5-10% from previous). Also, all our online bookings are now through FareHarbor, but feel free to call or write if you need any personal assistance for deciding best trip, and figuring out all of the many details to juggle in creating your personalized adventure on the big brawny river!

I love the new site… and feel like this will be a major step forward for the success of Quapaw Canoe Company in the New Year — and for many years to come!

We are worker bees, building canoes, and providing canoe adventures. Our service is to our queen, the Lower Mississippi River.

Worker Bees of the Queen Mississippi River ~~~ left to right: “Mississippi” Matthew Burdine, Mark “River” Peoples, John “Driftwood Johnnie” Ruskey, Heather “Red River Otter” Crosse, and Layne Logue, the “Water Opossum”

From the Mighty Quapaws — we are sending everyone big muddy love, wishes and blessings — from in between the cracks of time of Christmas and New Years!

-Johnnie Driftwood (Chief of Many Hats)
